Common Name: Dougal Gillman.

An Australian born and bred naturalist, with a mad keen love of all creatures great and small.

From the day I can remember I’ve always spent my spare time surrounding myself in the natural world, not only animals but plants too. Having grown up in my early days without television, there was a need to be able to entertain one’s self to which I turned my focus to investigating the surrounding forest, waterways, beaches and ocean where I developed an intrigue for watching animals predate on one another.

Although my main interests now lay heavily within reptiles, I also can’t help but love the marine wonders to be found on my doorstep The Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday islands. If you’re reading this there’s a good chance you feel the same way about our natural kingdom, so you’d understand how one’s interests evolve over time to suit new adventures and discoveries!

My personal mission is to see and document as a many species as possible in my lifetime and educate those around me as to the spectacular diversity Mother Nature has made.
